RE: need help asap on overheating
Just to avoid changing the Optispark, which is quite expensive, get a set of NOID lites and verify that all injectors are firing. Was the car missing before the tstat was changed? If itwas running Ok before the change. ther is a possibility that water got into the Opti, and the Opti once it gets wet internally will soon fail.

ok changed the plugs, its not sputtering anymore but it is smoking black when gas is applied,so what do you think it is bad gas?
problem were having now is that there is a clicking noise on the driver side of the engine, every second or two you hear "tick" then seconds later you hear it again,it hadnt dont this untill after the plugs were changed and the plug is in there nice and snug, could this be a problem with a loose plug wire, the rpm's arent jumping in the lease bit,any help would be apprecaited.

RE: need help asap on overheating
Could definitely be spark jumping directly to ground. Could be a bad wire, loose wire, bad connection, or something of the sort. Make sure all plug wires are seated properly and not nurning against a manifold. You may want to look at the engine in the dark of night & see if any sparks are jumping around in time with thw clicking, or just repalce the wires.
