My 97 Z got tagged on driver rear corner (right on the fuel door) driving ina thunderstorm on Tuesday.Looks like alot of work to fix. I need to find a reputable body shop in South Eastern Michigan to do the repairs. Any suggestions? Thnx.

 

Are you paying out of pocket, or is insurance traking care of it?

if your insurance will fix it i would say take it to peningtons on stevenson between 15 and 16 mile road, they specialize in fixing up Vette's and have done a lot of work for my mom and sister below what most other places charge, and they give you a rental car if you need it.

if your paying out of pocket i have a friend who does good work, he just bought his own shop,

Maaco on 5 mile and telegraph. They do really great work.

 

i would never recommend maaco, they use cheap products and their paint jobs usually dont last very long, they usually just use some single stage bullsht and rush to get the cars out.

they operate on volume and speed, quality is not their strong point.

 

The shop I mentioned did a fabulous job. Paint job going on 6 years and I haven't noticed any changes. And I only got a three year warranty. That's why I recommend that specific shop because they do a good job.

 

Thanks for the suggestions...Yes it is an insurance job my agent is reccomending I use a place called Butler's on 13 mile in Roseville to do the repairs...Anybody deal with them before?

I will try and get ahold of the other places mentioned and check if they can do work for my insurance and the warranties on the work.
