Default My 1st LT-1

Just bought a '95 Z/28 from the 2nd owner with 155k... paint and leather are beautiful, and all the switches work! SLP twin intake and Hooker catback are only mods...

Changed all the filters and fluids, and have an EGR hose on order, hoping that turns off the SES...
Smoke poured out of that LH EGR hose elbow when I did the vacuum line Seafoam treatment, but until the new hose arrives I put a worm gear hose clamp on which stopped most of the leak.
Car seems to run great, no misses, starts well, tho this is my 1st LT-1... PO said the SES lite has been lit since he bought it in 2004, but always passed VA insp.
I do not have OBDI code reading capability, but hope to get my son's laptop hooked to the right cable asap.

Only item needing replacement besides that hose that I can see is the assy belt, which will happen tomorrow. Soon new bushings, end links and tranny/rear end oil change will follow.

Have already made use of the good tips and posts on this site re what to watch for, and the car seems well-maintained. Air pump recall was done.

If y'all have items that I should immediately check out I may have overlooked, please let me know. This is my daily driver, and I hope to get the MPGs up as I tune and clean this car up; it got 23mpg on my first tank.

K&Ns on the SLP intake were dirtier than I ever got them on dirt bikes! Now clean, drive to work was smoother at low RPMs, and may be why my plugs were sooty...

EVERY vacuum line was checked/replaced and wormgear clamps added at connections. All pigtails are cleaned and dielectric greased. AIR pump fuse was blown, and hasnt popped since replacement. Checked the two 'easy' plugs and a tad dark and worn, but they can wait a little. After fill-up, 24.5mpg...

Optispark is nice and dry, waterpump age unknown but not the original. Plug wires look decent.

New end links made this Z28 handle as sharp as our '98 3800 Camaro, much more precise. OEM DeCarbons still decent, but no funds for Bilsteins anyway... This car is FE2 with a 30mm front bar and I think that is adequate.

need to have it scanned for trouble codes. 95 is an odd one its got a obd1 computer with a obd2 computer plugin. you can scann with certain scanners and can adapt a obd1 scanner to read the codes on it. number 24 on the list, shbox is good. 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids
