misfire at cruise
 

Okay so heres the story, I got a new set of tires and decided to burn what was left of the old ones off, which went incredibly well and was extremely fun. However after I stopped I realised I had a slight miss in the car. It doesn't seem to do it at idle except for every so often you can kinda hear it stutter. It also runs great at wot. Basically its the worst when I'm cruising and I just slightly accelerate. I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator today as I had a problem with the car loosing fuel pressure but that problem was before I did the donuts and I replaced to regulator today, that fixed my starting problem but I still have the miss. Any ideas what could have happened doing donuts that would cause a misdirected?

Could we have the info on the car(year etc)?

No service engine light on.....yet?

spark plug wire, spark plug, opti, coil wire, it sounds like a electrical issue. how old is the opti?

Still stock opti as far as I know and no I don't have any service lights on and all my gauges read great

What's yalls opinion in the best spark plugs to run in a stock motor? I was thinkin on goin with the autolite iridiums

the ones that you can afford

there is nothing wrong with copper plugs at $1.50 each on sale but you won't get as many miles from them as the $10 plugs. You'll be back under in a couple years replacing them as routine maintenance, not due to failure.

There is nothing wrong with Jegs wires at $35 as they work fine

I put them in a few years ago and the car has pacesetter LT's and no melting, no misses, nada. I run NGK copper and they work fine.

the thing about spark plugs, wires and oil is you'll get as many opinions like asking who someone thinks is the cutest girl or the best beer.

If you're OK with $5-$10 per plug then have at it. If you're OK with $100 for wires, then again, go for it. My 95 starts every time and runs fine as will yours.

how fond you are of changing the plugs in a lt1 camaro? i get the ones that last the longest, so far its ngk iridiums. the bosch iridiums im testing now are giving the ngks a run for the most miles before they fail. ive tried autolite and they lasted a week or so before failing.

That's what I was thinking, that no plugs really effected performance just how long they last.
Update on the misfire tho. The plugs that are in it now are ac delco rapid fires that I put in back in June and were running great till I did the burnouts. I tried running seafoam through the vacuum off the brake booster today to see if that could clear it up but it didn't make an ounce of a difference, still same misfire as before.

So new update, I changed the plugs it seemed to help a little but the misfire is still there.
