Default make tool for removing opti cap

you will need a e4 torx head screw, wing nut and lock nut

Nice. Will this allow you to remove the cap while the opti is in the car? or is it just to eliminate the use of the reverse torx socket? Never pulled an opti yet so idk.

The reason for the tool is that E4 torx sockets are not usally carried by stores; although they can be ordered from Lisle tools.

I guess that explains why MSD opti's are so expensive, they give you a tool to remove the old cap.

yes, still have to take the water pump out and yes them tools can get spendy. this thread is linked in the how to and faq sticky in the 4th gen general section

I have a whole set of craftsman ones that i got with a big tool set. They come in handy when doing turn signal switches too.
