MAF screen

What do you guys think about taking out the stock screen out of the mass air flow sensor to decrease resistance. Will this hurt anything. Or will I get some sick horsepower.

RE: MAF screen

I read somewhere its +5hp just taking out the screen alone without even porting it.

I myself took the screen out and ported my stock MAF and noticed an increase in throttle response and overall power :) If you'd like a tutorial on how to do all of this go to www.installuniversity.com

Happy Modding!

RE: MAF screen

Messing with the MAF changes the calibration and can lead to driveability problems. If you think you need a bigger MAF, get an aftermarket unit, such as Granatelli. etc., and avoid problems. As for sick horsepower increase, ain't gonna happen, a few extra horses, maybe. The stock unit is good for more power than the stock engine puts out, so a bigger MAF won't do much, unless the engine has been modified and now can use more air than the stock MAF can handle.

Have you considered upgrading your MAF?

If your Camaro was newer, you could get an SLP one, see:

and

For yours check out the Throttle Body Flow Booster:
