I took the cat out of mine. I din't notice any more power but it sounds good. I dont have headers and i dont know what kind of muffler i have. It is a small welded one. It looks like the stock kind but smaller.

did you notice anything from the headers? What kind are they? Did you do anything on the intake side?

ses or check engine light coming on could mean u have some stored trouble codes. have the computer scanned and find out if there are some trouble codes in it and if so let us know what they are. running hot could be a number of things so its best to see what the computer has stored. a few things to look at are obstuctions in the radiator, leaves, stuff like that. are the fans comming on? is the radiator full of coolant? more power? get your computer tuned for your add ons. a plugged cat will cause loss of power and poor mpg.

if u dont have one get a cold air intake set up. k&N or moroso. if u delete the cat u will not pass the smog test. u can get a high flow cat. once u get the add ons/take offs that u want have the computer tuned from a place like pcmforless. when u have it tuned he will do it for the new thermo so the fans and stuff comes on earlier. all the add ons help but without the tune your gains will be minimal.
