Default LT1 REbuild

guess i should have used firebird in this forum or something because everyone seems to be looking right passed it
so i have a "camaro" 1993 LT1 with 120K and the tranny was rebuilt and just want to know if i did the assembly by myself how much it would cost

Depends on what you want, stock or high performance. I can say from experience, even getting someone to rebuild to a long block, it's alot of work, But it's Worth It !!
Roughly --Stock 1400 & up Performance 2400 & up

Other guys will be on for this one who can give you a better idea of exactly what your up against and maybe a price list. Alot depends on what needs replacing. Hone and ring replacement, bearings, head rework or you lap valves and replace seals ECT ...

Yeah well I hear all this long block stuff
I'm new to this car thing im 17 and my dad used to drag a 442 Cutlass so i try to soak in and ask as many questions as i can to him so he knows how to do all these rebuilds minus the mechine work and said if i get to cocky with this Firebird that he would have to rebuild his cutlass lol

Well I want to do stock and just get performance from the regular bolt on parts because Im going to be driving this and don't want all these things going wrong with it plus the extra money isn't worth it unless im going to be taking it out to the track

so you dont' want to rebuild it, you just want to make your stock engine faster.

headers
y-pipe
catback
cold air intake
gears
torque converter if auto

after that, we can start talking cam. 12.4 isn't that hard to get to for an lt1

Does the engine need a rebuild with 120k or you want to make it fresh and a tight stock. Are you planning on boreing the cylinders new pistons or honeing and re-ringing. How cheap do you want it rebuilt to ?
