Ok guys, My friends cousin came in from NC this week and we were talking. He said he's got a 90 something vette. I'm almost positive he said it had an LT1 and a hot cam in it. I told him I'd race him when he brings it out to NY.


anyway the point is he said he would whoop my a$$ in a race and I said he wouldnt. My camaro just has the basic bolt-ons Long tubes, true duals, egr delete, shift kit.

all he's got in the hotcam. I personally think he's retarded because he said since his cars fiberglass and is lyk 1,700lbs soo i laughed in his face my camaros only like 100lbs more then his vette. and i kno he's got like a 307 or somethin in the rear end. not sure about the tranny.

I think I'd win, what do you guys think?

 

first off the corvettes werent 1700 pounds.They were normally 3000 to 3200 lbs.Fbodies are 3600lbs,some are 3700.The corvette has a good advantage cause of the weight.I highly doubt he just has a hot cam in it,because normally when one does a cam install they already have full exhaust,stall(if auto) and probably did 1.6rr when installing the cam.Corvettes dont normally launch as well with IRS,but they do good on the top end.I personally dont think you will win,but it could be a drivers race.

I think the OP said his buddy was retarded for thinking his vette is only 1700 lbs. That said, if he really is cammed and he weighs less than you (see the figures Alih posted, there's a 400 lbs difference, which is a lot) I'd say you're probably going to get taken...

 

i would also like to know if both are autos? manuals? that would play a lot into this race.

i think it could be close though if the vette doesn't have the supporting mods for a cam...if he's got the supporting mods on top of the hotcam...then you will be destroyed

 

Yeah I never thought his car weighed that much. But Il talk to him again soon and let you know what he's got in it............He's one of the rich kids that mommy and daddy buy everything for, sooo he could have a lot more underhis hood then I know of or even the owner of the car lol
