Default LS1 parts for LT1?

hey guys! just curious. can any of the ls1 parts like the cams or intake manifold be put on the lt1 for a power gain? ive been searching and it seems like some stuff you can, i just wana be sure tho. and if so which would be the best thing to do!

Thanks!

i would say no. theres tons of performance parts specifically for the LT1 out there, that would make way more power than stock ls1 parts even if they can fit.

id wait on the tune, at least until you get some more performance parts. that way you wont have to get it tuned multiple times. id also get a nice cai to go with the exhaust.

The only things that are interchangeable between the two engines are the lifters, but swapping hydraulic rollers for hydraulic rollers isn't going to get you anywhere. Even if the parts were compatible, swapping in a LS1 intake or LS1 cam isn't going to yield a big gain because the stock LT1 parts get the job done. The best explanation of why the LS1 makes more power from the factory than the LT1 is in the heads.

LS1 heads flow 235 cfm intake and 181 cfm exhaust.
LT1 heads flow 212 cfm intake and 152 cfm exhaust.

A stock M6 LS1 could dyno at around 310 rwhp vs. a stock M6 LT1 at a measly 250 rwhp. Stock LT1 heads strangle the engine. An example of an LT1 with higher flowing heads would be the LT4:

LT4 heads flow 235 cfm intake and 176 cfm exhaust which is nearly identical to the LS1 flow numbers. M6 LT4 GS Vettes can dyno at 310 rwhp which is right on the mark with other LS1 cars.

Moral of the story: LS and LT parts don't interchange, but power is made the same way. There's no magic that happens with the LS1, so just do the usual bolt-ons, cam, heads, and tune for the same amount of power. Start with a K&N/Moroso cold air intake, then Pacesetter long tube headers + non emissions Y-pipe, Lloyd Elliot's LE2 heads and cam, and a good tune. That's the cheapest route to 400 rwhp.
