i just did a head job on my 95 z28 and havent even put 5 miles on the car and it's not bubbling through the radiator like before i did the heads but i keep losing antifreeze fast and it gets hot instantly.

it might be getting hot quick because you still might have air in the system. thats all i can think of unless you allready tried it.

I'm voting for air in the system too. Did you bleed the system after getting it allback together?

i got the heads shaved new gaskets everything and i bleed the system it's pissing me off how it's doing the same thing again

Obviously, the coolant has to be going somewhere! If you know for absolutely sure that you have no air, and that your system starts out full, and that your engine isn't pouring out coolant externally, then you have to be losing it internally. Depending on where it's going, you should either have white smoke pouring out the exhaust, or it's going into the oil pan. Check your dipstick to see if the oil level is way up.

i checked my oil and it's normal but it drips from the dipstick and Itook the pan plug out usually water sits at the bottom but no water cam out and it doesnt smoke white.

OK, you're coolant can't just be disappearing! When you did the head job, I assume you drained the coolant from the lower radiator hose which would have drained some from the block too? Keep in mind that when you initially refilled the coolant, the thermostat is closed and the coolant won't flow into the block until the stat opens. Are you sure you're not just chasing it after itenters the block?

right now i have no thermostat in it but i put like 6 gallons in it.
