trickflow makes alot of stuff i didnt realize it till recently. and 1300-2400 doesnt seem lik the cost of a package deal for an lt1. all the trickflow heads ive seen for an lt1 are around 2100. and i agree with whammer on the other stuff he said. ported stockers and more name brand headers lpp is comin out with the new batch soon (i hope)

Cost guesstimate??

6 speed is a t56 you can get them out of lt1 cars and ls1 cars but they hav different input shafts. and the cost on cam and ported stockers depends who you go with. lloyd elliott has 3 packages at different prices and advanced inductions has 2 one is i beleive $1995 for heads and cam

i believe lloyd's cheapest heads and cam package is 1200 bucks. so get that, 550 for LPP's and you've spent 1750 and have a very quality set up

Well guys, nice work. But we still haven't fixed his tranny problem. Could it be a shift kit that's in the tranny that's causing the shifting to be like it is? Or programming? Either way, if he can fix that, maybe he can enjoy his car now! Instead of thinking how he's going to enjoy.

i suppose it COULD be in the tune...my only thing that i have a problem with goes with what 69 said about true performance guys want to make it shift on their own...well if he was a true performance guy, why did he only go with a 2k stall? i believe stock is 1800....that just doesn't make sense to me the more i think about it. does it shift through all the gears when you're driving normally?

you could always look into gettin a shift kit and see if that helps. but idk if that will change how it is

What I was saying is that it's quite possible the previous owner wanted to have "control" over when the trans shifts. That doesn't mean you have to go "apesh!t" with everything else, as some people like to.

i really don't think any of the owners before me were big performance guys. but i could be wrong. and it will shift but if it's in over drive it can go up to like 2800rpm or so before it will shift on it's own. unless i let off and let it shift. and it does that with slow acceleration. if i mashed it in OD it would just redline in first till i let off the gas and let it switch and so on etc etc. i think i am gonna go with a 6-speed though if i can find it. just cause it'd be the easier thing to do it seems. oh and i heard you can't mess with the ECU on these cars because they are Read only not Read and Write.
