How you guys doin'? Well I'm new to this forum, as of today... I'm in the middle of purchasing a 97 Z28 with 100k on it. It's a six speed, T-Top and it's that burnt orange'ish maroone mixed color. (Obviously not the factory given color name) Anyway the interior needs work such as headliner, new dash pad... etc., but the car runs fine. I am wanting to completely re-do the car though. I work for a motorcycle shop that is owned by the Mealey family... for those of you who aren't familiar with the name, it's a very big name in the automotive dealer industry. He's the guy that Courtesy had to buy out and ban from selling in Florida for 5 years. Anyway... off topic. Like I said I'm re-doing a lot such as interior paint body kit... wheels etc... But I want to mix in some performance mods in the process... like exhaust, intake, cams, ets. Thanks to the help of some members I know that I should start with Intake, and Exhaust first. Now the question is what brand??? I know bikes extremely well, I've roadraced for years... but cars are a different story.

as far as some starter mods get a cold air intake, smooth bellow, airfoil, 160*thermo, fan switch (these things get hot in the summer, run the low fans all the time)

i was content with a Moroso CAI, SLP LM1 exhaust, and Pacesetter Mid Length Headers (but if you're getting headers make sure you get a better mid pipe first, the Fbody exhaust system sucks a$$ and needs to be opened up)

yea stay away from flowmaster its a junk system ... magnaflow sounds real nice and deep and well slp is slp good stuff but grab a set of earplugs and a bottle of advil cause them babys is loud hahahah k&n makes a nice intake system for round 190-200 bucks ... hey a bit of advice if you getting into the motor w,while your in there replace the opti-spark you said you were up 100k it would be wise and the next thing you can buy is a set of headers there a nice up grade for sure .. bbk makes a good set as well as pacesetter for around 400 duckets .. if you use shorties make sue you get that y pipe or them headers are worthless good luck ad enjoy your baset sounds like a gem

i thougth you didn't want to throw a ton of money at this car?
as stated...moroso and k&n are the 2 brands i'd look at for cold air intakes...for exhaust as slvr stated is mostly in the owners taste...most aftermarket catbacks offer the same increase in horsepower...so then its mostly what sound you like the most. i've always been a fan of magnaflow...but borla and corsa are excellent but you're going to have to pay an arm and a leg for them!

Well thanks for the advice gentlemen. And sorry to hijack the thread. It was inadvertantly done however. I was looking at the pacesetter exhaust. The long pipe... Also said they were ceramic coated. Any thoughts?
