After about five months of messing around, I finally got my 1994 Z28 running again. I locked up the engine by running it out of oil. Then I decided to rebuild it to save money. (lol). My Boss's father knows a lot about cars and said he would help me. Well He took it all apart, but when it came back from the machine shop, my boss and I got in a fight, so his dad said he wouldn't help ne any more. I had to lug parts back for about 35 miles, and it took like 5 trips because I kept discovering I missed stuff. So me, with hardly any mechanical skill and a ****ty Haynes manual trudged through it with only my brother, who knows less about cars then me. I had a little help from my friends dad who knew some stuff, but it was 80% me alone with no knowledge who got stuck doing it. Well I followed the book by the letter, and got it all together, and installed in the car, and it wouldnt start. Took it to a mechanic, he got it to turn over. Then I took it to another place, because it still wouldnt start. They got fuel, and spark. Then it was backfiring so I took it back to the original mechanic, he put a new distributor on it and low and behold 5 months later, today it fired up for the first time in about a year. I am so happy! Never **** around with oil, or people who arent your friends I have learned.
