Ideas?

I have not. I am still trying to find a place in town that carries it. I checked the catalog at work today and it's listed in gray meaning it's something I can't order. I'm gonna check with NAPA and Autozone tomorrow. Worse comes to worse, I'll order from ebay.
Just curious though, in the diagram it says "ignition test connector". Is that referring to the code reader or the paper clip trick? If so, I read over that part and didn't have it connected while testing the voltage.

i read it as first unplug the opti and test the computer side of the harness wire (up on the side of the intake) at b terminal or the light blue and black wire. with ignition on it should read 5 volts. then it says to plug the wire (up on the side of the intake) back in and unhook the plug from the distributor (thats if you have one msd does not) then test again with igntion on. should read the same voltage. if it does there is a failure in the opti plug/connector or opti is failing. if voltage is not the same the wire is no good.

I see. I see. So I was reading that part correctly. I just read the "ignition test connector" and was thinking that you had to have pins A and B on the OBD port jumped while performing the test. Well it wasn't reading 5 volts....but it did read the same amount of volts (4.8 something) at both points tested. I was having dad help with this and he tested all the pins at both points and each read the same as it's corresponding one.
So since I'm getting a reading of 4.8 volts and not 5, that is setting code 36? And eluding that the cable running from the connection at the intake, down to the opti is bad?

I just bought it at Advance since I get a 20% discount. It's a Cardone Select that's 100% brand spanking new. No re-manufactured stuff. Plus it came with a lifetime warranty. I'm gonna be pretty ticked if it has anything to do with the Opti. But if so, it'd be considered a defect (not that it matters for me) and they can send it back and I'd get a new one.
We tested the little terminal that the wire runs into for each plug. Like the inserts for the pins. That was both at the connection on the intake and again where it connects to the Opti.
