I NEED HELP FAST!! please
I have a 1994 LT1 with 88k on it. Ive owned the car for 6 months, always beat the **** out of it, and it akways ran perfect. yestursday i went to get new tires, decided to do one last burnout (ive did many before), dumped the clutch and it bogged down. On the way home the car seemed normal ( i did 90 on the highway), then at the next red light, the idle went down, and once i let the clutch out and went, it was bogging down and won't rev over 3000rpms. Any clue? its not the motor, and im thinking the computer. any ideas?

RE: I NEED HELP FAST!! please
the car is completly stock, so yes it has cats. i tried to diconnect the battery to see if it would reset the computer but it didnt make a difference. this moring i had to drive to school, and it now revs to a little above 4000rpms, where yesturday it wouldnt go over 3400. it doesnt bog as bad as yesturday for some reason but it still runs like crap.

Alot of times, if the cat/s plug up bad enough, they cause the car to run poorly and not go past a certain rpm. I highly doubt the computer is messed up. Three areas I would look into, are ignition (optispark is a favorite), fuel delivery, and cats. Is/was the Service Engine Soon light on?

i believe 94 should still have one cat, i think 95 started to use 2, but when i had a cat on mine and it was clogged if i went past 90 on the highway the engine light would come on

if you get under the car where the cat is you can lightly hit with your hand you can hear broken pieces moving around, then you know you need a new one, when mine was clogged i could start it but it would immediately die

1995 Was the first year, but only in California, so those cars are kinda rare, same goes for the 95 3.8 sixxers.
As far as replacement cats go, I recommend Random Technology or Magnaflow metallic high flow cats.
