i lost my keys!!!!
 

what do i do?
i cant find my only keys to my z and now the doors are locked and everything!!!
is there a way gm can take my vin and make me a new key er somthin?!?!?!
this suxs so bad!!!
what can i do?!??!?

Take the vin number to a GM dealer with proof of ownership & they will sell you a new key.

proof of owner ship cn that be my insurance card?? the bank has the pink till i pay it off!!!!!

Usually a state registration papers, or some other document, such as the loan papers, that has your name and VIN on it. It used to be a simple thing, but too many wise guys copied the VIN number from the windshield and went to the dealer, got a set of keys and stole the car.

make sure u get two keys, and keep one really safe in your house, so when u loose one, u know u have a spare one somewere really safe,

yea deffinatly! lol well i can look on the bright side and hope that when i get a new key that the chip will shut off the security light!
anyone have an idea of how much it cost???

it depends on the car and dealership, some car replacement keys can be around $80, others can go up to the $300 range and higher

weird coincidence, I just lost my keys to my 93 z-28 as well. I went to a locksmith and he said the dealers wouldn't be able to make keys for cars older than 10 years, so I'm screwed, hopefully yours isn't as old. He advised me to take out the ignition and then he can come and match the VAT resistance and make the key on site for $125. this sucks so bad haha. Let me know what you do, and if the dealer is able to make your key. Thanks!

If the VATS module itself is bad or removed teh car will not run unless the PCM is reprogrammed. If the VATS module is good but does not work because the key pellet is bad or the pellet contacts aren't working properly, you can hardwire a resistor in the circuit, which willkeep the VATS module happy. The ignition key will now work as plain old key, but the disabling feature will be gone.

yea wow that suxs, but even more so my car is also locked!!!!
so ive been drivin regretingly the gf little v-tack crapper!lol
well ill let cha know what hapens
