I just registered on this site, v-6 to lt1 swap, got a question
I am about to rebuild an Lt1 I salvaged out of a 93 z-28, put a mild cam and head combo on it and put it in my 95, that currently has a 3.4. I have the wiring harness and computer from the lt1, my question is about motor mount location and exhaust, if anyone has done this before I would greatly appreciate feedback, and want to know how it panned out.

Intresting to see this question so often lately, I have not done it but here are some places to start reading. You will need to understand everything involved before you start. The old " Know where your at and where your going " saying.

Good luck. Do you happen to have access to the donor car that you pulled the engine out of? You will probably need a lot of other things that you overlooked previously.
It will probably be easier to rebuild and hop up the 3.4 than do the whole V-8 swap.
I am not totally certain, but I believe the K-member is different between the V-6 and V-8 cars. I know that I read somewhere on the 'net that you need the K-member from a V-8 car for that swap. But I don't know this for a fact.
Do a search here and I know that this topic has been covered several times.

Yes the whole cradle and suspension has the come off the donner car, so ive read, wireing, exhaust, radiator, tranny, i think the driveshaft will need to come and will fit too, just about everthing in front of the firewall. I can be done though.

Don't forget the rear end and torque bar for the drive shaft. I started to do the same thing and just bought a 3.4 engine and tranny for my original and I'm building it for my daughter. Going to look at a '95 LT1 Z tomorrow, so I'll have 3 of these things, were a month a go there were none. Wife is not diggin it!

If it was that easy to just swap motors GM wouldn't even bother with building v6. v6 should have never been born. having a 350 is great but the rest of the car has to back it up, know what i mean? i think that project will own you man, bad idea!

Picked up the Z last night, has a knock in the lower end, paid $400 for it, I knew I was going to rebuild it anyway, It runs pretty good, auto shifts like it should and EVERYTHING works, leather is in good shape. So now I have 3 of these cars, and it all started, when I thought I could make a V-6 into a V-8 hotrod! I am glad I listened to guys on this forum and checked out the facts, I saved myself a lot of wasted money and hard work. I'll end up with 2 running vehicles, 1 a cruiser that I'll let my daughter drive, the other a beast that eats TA's! I hate Smokey and the Bandit!!
