Default How much should i expect to get...

...for my '94 Z28?

The time has finally come, the economy has taken a **** on me and made me really strapped for cash, so I'm afraid I've gotta look into selling ol' blue . So what do you guys think would be a good price? I paid $7500 @ 53k miles...

Here's the specs:
- 61k miles
- borla cat-back
- hypertech tuned
- pulley reduction
- 175 degree thermostat
- moroso cai
- brand new water pump & distributor both original GM parts

This sucks

Man that sucks ! I know you Love your Camaro and she is a real Beauty too.
Sure wish you could keep it. We paid $5500 2yrs ago with 140,00 mi on it so try to get as much as you can, with 61,000 mi , i would try to get your $7500 back, to me it's worth it. The reason is that we had to put a rebuilt engine and some other parts that added another $4000 to the cost. Your Camaro looks in pristine condition. Hope you could find a way to keep it. But we understand here about hard times too. Good Luck Buddy

it sounds like your original purchase had emotions involved and you over-paid.

I live in FL- translation, no salt on the roads thus no rust and the underneath of cars look good and bolts aren't all rusted. If you live in Ill, you can't say the same thing.

Your car is 16 years old. It isn't a collectors item.

Right now, I can go get a 95 with 383 stroker, new clutch, rebuilt tranny, headers, pristine leather interior, 3 year old paint just in great shape. In other words, all the mods and building up you would want to do. I can get it for $4800. There are other Z's for $3500 but close to stock like yours.

My 95 has a rebuilt engine, new opti and water pump, rebuilt tranny, new rotors, calipers, pads, Z06 rims, 4 brand new toyo 275 40 17's, Pacesetter LT headers, magnaflow, CAI, Bose system, nice exterior and interior, Hypertech tuner goes with the car, rear end rebuilt including all seals and bearings. So, it's darn reliable and if I were to sell, I wouldn't expect more than $4,000. But, I'm not selling

Well I guess an emotional attachment and price are not good combo's.
I checked a few places below and prices do vary quite a bit up and down.
If you need a quick sell the you can proly expect less, but if you could take
more time then more. Guess I'm a little emotionally attached to your model
since I have one too, sorry for any miss info. " torque_is_good " is correct on this.
You asked what you could get for it and I was thinking what it's worth, not always equal.

This is what is called a buyers market. Even in a neutral market, prices are not determiend by the seller. They are determined by what a ready-willing and able buyer will pay for the product, goods or services.

In a buyers market, there are less buyers and thus you must compete for the attention of a buyer. Since your vehicle is what is called a commodity, meaning that it is plentiful and not unique, the way to compete is by a low price.

THink about this for a moment. Even auto transport right now cost about $500 to get a car transported within the lower 48 states. (shop around and you'll see)

Also, if you go to the yellow pages and look for a small repair shop in the area of a car, you could get a mechanic to do a looksee on their way home for around $100- $150 and report to you. So, for $500 transport, and $150 labor, you can now look for cars in the entire country.

E bay has great success with auto auctions. So, you must have value in your product. That does not mean give it away. Go back to my car. Does it sound like a lesser vehicle than yours when you consider everything is rebuilt and it has aftermarket nicer rims and tires?????

I suggest that you review ebay, autotrader and craigslist to see asking prices and then figure the sale price is 10-20% beneath that.

Good luck
