high volume oil pump with a stock pan??

Question high volume oil pump with a stock pan??

alright guys i've looked all over forums trying to find out if i can run a high volume oil pump with my stock pan. some people say its perfectly fine, others say it'll starve the motor. what can i do???? all i want is to better lubricate the LT1 and bring up the pressure slightly, im not racing it just enjoying the power

the lt1s have a m55 oil pump you can go with a m55A and be fine thats what i did so take it or leave i guess hope it helped

is the motor new or used. i put a high volume high pressure pump in my old motor and had no issues. the oil pressure was dropping to 10 at idle and i had the pan off so i figured what the heck. i think as long as u are not reving it over 5500 rpms ull be fine.

its the stock motor with no mods and 82k miles. and yea that what mine does, drops to around 15 or 20 psi at idle.
