Default Help Collant leak!

I have a 96 z28, I got home today and when i turned my car off there was a lot of coolant under my car and the temp started rising so I turned it off. Waited, filled/burped the system, ran it for 15mins and it started bogging out and turned itself off, tried starting it again but it won't. (waiting for it to cool off...)....it sounds like coolant is boiling in the coolant reservoir if that helps-I also think its leaking from there but idk. Is there an over fill pipe on those? I just had the engine replaced and the car was sitting for a long time before then. Please help! thanks in advance!

First off, figure out where the coolant is leaking from and stop the leak. Who replaced the engine? Did you or them test drive it before bringing it back home?

did you check the coolant level in the radiator? was the air blead out of the cooling system after the water pump change? look at number 1 here https://camaroforums.com/forum/93-02...62/#post557634

Jkeaton-Yes, I did drive it after and it wasn't doing that.

craby-Well I'm filling it from the radiator and it drains the radiator also when it does it... The system was burped.

Update- I replaced the radiator cap with a 18lb one and the car no longer over heats etc while running and turns on and off fine, but after running it for a while, turning it off, waiting a minute, radiator fluid pours out from (where I think) the coolant reservoir is. (I will take off all the plastic guards tomorrow and take a look.) Also I don't know if this helps but Just in case, I just filled up my A/c system and drove it home with it on full blast to the floor (My dash vents aren't working now) right before it started doing this for the first time.

Thanks for the help!

coolant res is under the battery and is a common fail, plastic gets brittle and cracks. hose to the res is also known to fail.

Ok, I pulled the reservoir and it leaks between the battery tray and the actual reservoir. Is it suppose too for when you overfill it?

no. but then the level should not get that high. can you find a crack or damage. so its not leaking from the hose inlet or hose itself or the neck of the filler and making its way to that area. bleed air a couple more times to be sure you have it all out.
