Default Heat Problem

the heat hasnt worked in my car since a couple of months ago and i recently replaced the thermostat and cant figure out what the problem is... the engine doesnt over heat and runs fine but i cant get heat to come out the vents to save my life... what could be a possibility that is wrong?

is the fan coming on? if so does the air go from place to place when u change from defrost, to heat, to dash vents? what yr, sorry forgot. lol.

yes the all the fans work including the radiator fans and when i switch between them it does go where the dial says (floor, face/floor, defrost, floor/defrost,) i just dont get why it wont come out warm even when the engine heats up... o and its a 95 z

not sure if the 95 is same as my 93 but heres what it says in the book.

your heater core could be plugged up with old/mixed or just a crappy kind of fluid. id do a heater core flush and see if any weird coloured gobs of junk come out and if they do theres most likely where your problem is.

had that happen to me, just flushed the system and now i wanna turn off the heat after 5min of it blowing lol .

well i did a full radiator flush also... cause my radiator fluid looked red-ish like it wasnt a good red-ish definetely not that color from the anti-freeze but i did a flush and nothing happened...

You have to flush the heater core by itself, flushing the radiator will not help. Also, there is a restrictor in one of the hoses at the engine end that can get clogged.

I just flushed my heater core this weekend, and I will attest to the simplicity and perfection of this suggestion. The air coming out of my vent registered 105 degrees after the procedure!

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best one

alright how do i go about flushing the heating core and does anyone know where the restricter is on the hose? my dad and i were looking at all the restricters going threw the thermostat and everything and they are all open... but where is the heater core and how do i go about flushing it?
