Default Headers installed, loosing power!!

I installed my bbk shorty headers, and everything seemed to go in good. After installing the headers i turned on the car to let the engin run and it sounds like there is no air leak. but i took the car out for a test drive and it looses power!!
A friend told me that it could be my O2 sensors,
what are syptoms of a bad O2 sensor?
Can it be anyother thing?
any suggestions?

Tanx

Spartan, being a grammar **** is not contributing to the thread in a productive way. We all know what he meant, it does not make you look any smarter to call people out about grammar/spellin.

i think you mean "spellinG" [>:]

no, really tho, an offhanded joke everyone can handle. but nobody needs anyone actually calling them out on spelling without even offering up some advice to go along with it

Well is it just me or does it seem like no one knows the difference between Loose and Lose...

If your sensors are bad they would throw a code.. i know mine did in my mustang.

There are no codes that show up, so is there any way to test the sensors?

it will run rich or lean and poor fuel economy, hesitation upon acceleration, stalling, surging and rough idle. However unless theres something wrong with your SES light that should come on if your sensors are bad.

also another way kinda old school trick just go start the car up and smell your exhaust fumes (not for long though lol) if the o2. are bad it might run rich which in return you would smell gas more then usual in your pipes. someone please correct me if im wrong!!

You can test O2 sensors by looking at them with a scan tool. Look for up & down voltage changes which should be happening at a fast rate. Steady voltage = bad sensor. LT1 engines are known to get cranky when putting on headers. The extra noise is picked up by the knock sensor, and the PCM retards the spark which causes power loss. Check that all the new stuff is not rattling around. If all is tight, there are no trouble codes, and the O2 sensors are OK, the common solution is to replace the KS module inside the PCM with a LT4 KS module. The LT4 module is more selective and is not as sensitive to false knock as the LT1 module.

Your right, i ran a scan on my car when the SES flashed and it says its running lean on bank 2 and my exhaust has smelt very strong for awhile.
