Question Headers for a 97 LT1 SS

Hey guys just wanted some input on this situation I have. I'm looking for some headers for my 1997 SS. I'm not too knowledgable when it comes to this so all help is appreciated. Basically i'm looking for a set that will give me a noticeable power gain. I'm looking more into some shorty headers since I hear long-tubes are much more hassle to install and mess with ground clearance. Btw I will have someone install them. I found some BBKs on Jegs for about 400$ Chrome, will that be something good? And do I need a Y-pipe? I basically want to spend the least amount of $ but do want quality so at least ceramic coated. Any recommendations on which to get and what else I need? thanks

Shorties won't give you much. It's long tubes or nothing. Pacesetter are supposed to be cheap and easy to install.

depends on the emissions laws in your area. if ok then long tubes are the way to go.

I have pacesetter long tubes with y-pipe on my car. Very easy to install (although it doesn't matter to you) and a very good bargain. You can get them with emissions for 02 sensors, AIR, and EGR if you still have all that stuff. You can get these a little cheaper than others and you will notice a difference. Not a real issue with ground clearance unless u are lowered or considering it.

don't go cheap with the header gaskets

You want dead soft aluminum such as Percys Seal 4 Good

It's such a bear to get to the header bolts that you don't want to have to try and get in there to tighten because the Felpros started leaking
