What do you guys think about this?

https://sdparts.com/details/gm-perfo...parts/12480002

What else would I need to get the swap done? Is there something around the same price that would be better?

I honestly don't wanna mess with the cam, but I want to redo the top end.. maybe move to 1.6 roller rockers.

Why would go with the Hot Cam? There are a lot better Cams out there.

you will want hp valve springs and retainers to go with the 1.6 roller rockers. will also want to mesure the pushrods to see if different length is neeeded.

I actually don't want a cam at all. I just want roller rockers and better springs. What do you guys think would be the best to go with? I was looking at 1.6 self adjusting roller rockers and someone suggested lt4 springs.

Thought I'd show you guys this. The previous owner couldn't drop a few bucks for some egr delete plates.. instead he just smashed together what remained of the metal line. Pretty sure this isn't air tight...

And here's with the intake off. Should I clean in there? Might be a stupid question, but figured I'd ask.

If you can't afford to have the heads redone, then at a minimum, replace the seals and lap the valves. I'd spend the money on sending my heads out for reconditioning before I'd buy a top end kit.

I've decided to hold off on any upgrades for the time being, and make sure she runs right with my existing parts first. The heads are going to be redone right.

Just pulled the drivers side head (having to cut my header loose to do so) and number 7 was full of coolant and really clean. The others looked normal. Got me worrying now. lol

If this car belonged to you.. Would you replace the lifters? Sort of on the fence.

IMO, Not unless you have a reason. Even with roller lifters each lifter leave a wear pattern on the CAM. The second lifter may have a wear pattern that might not like the lifter before it. I only replace lifters if they fail or if a new cam is being installed.

Makes sense. I'll leave them alone.

I'm pretty sure I know why the gasket blew at #7.. The steam pipe that connects on the back of the head there was completely clogged. I'm just gonna get a new one instead of messing with it.
