Good clutch brands?
 

I just bought a 95 camaro z28, and the clutch slips. What brand of clutch should i get and what prices will I be looking at?

the car has longtube headers and exhaust
k&n cold air intake
msd ignition
and i plan on putting 4:10 gears in soon

so would a stock clutch even hold with these mods?

A lot of people like Monster clutches on ls1tech. Many praise that they have fantastic customer service and stand by their products.

I have just put a new clutch in my 95 camaro, I did alot of research. Mine already had a Stage 4 SPEC clutch kit in it. But They are out of this world to buy.
So I tried XDT stage 4 clutch, and used me spec pressure plate and flywheel. I have to say I will use XDT again. I can Launch off the line lok at 6000 with slicks with no slippage. I just put a stage 2 in my brothers Stock Jetta this past weekend, and its prefect and his kit only costed him 140.00. Look at them on Ebay, and if you don't see what you want email him, he is very helpful, and he cut me a deal on my brother clutch since I was a repeat buyer.

Don't confuse XTR with XDT they are the knock offs.

Mine was easy, but I also have full length headers. It took me 2hrs.

I didn't think Monster made clutch kits for LT1 cars... they only seem to do push types. As for the XTD, I wouldn't put a kevlar clutch in a street car. The chatter is so unbearable it makes the car unpleasant to drive and city traffic will glaze that disc easily.

Also, start saving for a new rear. That 10 bolt isn't going to last long.

You're also going to need a new hydraulic clutch system for your car. The old one won't be strong enough to fully disengage a fresh LT4 style pressure plate and your engagement will be less than an inch down. The system only lasts about 80,000 miles or so, is sealed, and can be bought for <$200 at a dealership.

I have no Chatter at all, and I have driven it thru town a few times to show off alittle with no problem. I love the clutch But stage 4 has NO give, go or choke down.

That's because the stage 4 is a ceramic disc that warms up. It's a bit smoother than kevlar while cruising but it eats flywheels.
