the pick up on my oil pump fell off so i just finished the job when i started her up to check the oil pressure and reved her a little i heard a noise it turned out the exhaust was a little out of wack but while i was hunting the noise down i noticed the flywheel was flexing a little bit i didnt find any cracks and the weight was still on it is this flex normal or is it some thing to look into thank you

define a little? a flexplate does just that, flexes, now if its bad enough it will leak trans fluid(makes the tc wobble on the seal)

Well everytime you rev the motor up a little the flexplate would do just that flex it made it look like it was moving towards the tc maybe about an 1/8 th if a inch

A flexplate is supposed to flex, to take up for any slight balance irregularities with the torque converter. The t.c. is a lot of spinning weight, and it could tear up your crankshaft bearings if the plate didn't flex. If all you're seeing is flex, then I wouldn't be too worried about it. But, if you can also see your crankshaft flange walk in and out that much, then you have crank bearing wear.

...So long as the whole crank isn't walking in and out that 1/8th inch, you'll be good to go.
