I have to drive to and from the parts store... But I will just have a friend drive me...

If I do have to replace the entire tensioner assembly, is it difficult?

BTW, I love your 69. If I ever get a Chevelle or a Camaro, I want a 638 BBC... EFI, dished pistons, twin turbos... yum...

Hey Camaro 69, I do have another question: Can I get a serpentine belt that is, say, an inch or 2 shorter and just remove the alternator, route the belt, then put the alternator back on? Just as a temporary fix? I have some belts lying around that might do the job...

You can easily drive 20 miles with no belt, no harm done. There are only 2 bolts holding on the tensioner. There are also a couple brands of replacements, I'd opt for the metal pulley myself.

20 miles is far on just the battery youll be good if you bring an extra battery or have a buddy follow in case you need a jump just remember no radio no lights nothing your going to need all the juice youve got
