Default Engine Swap vs Rebuild LT1

Hey guys, I have recently starting thinking about doing an engine swap on my '95 Z and was wondering first off, what engine would be a good fit for this car in terms of work needed for the swap, power, torque, etc and secondly, if it was smarter to do a complete engine swap or if I should just consider rebuilding the badass LT1. Thanks for your help!

Installing any other engine besides the LT1 will require additional work, both mechanical and electrical. With proper mods the LT1 can be very competitive and streetable. Build it out to a 383, or even a 427 if want lots of torque.

i agree stick with the lt1...you can do a badass 383 or you can lower your compresion and run a supercharger these engines can make BIG numbers when built right...

What's the difference between a short block and a long block?

Short block is a block with rotating assembly only (crank, pistons, rods, cam, and such) A long block is a complete engine minus intake, covers, and accesories Is this gonna be a daily driver?
