Default Economical Way To 100 Xtra HP?

Ive got a 96 Z, 6 speed. Its stock, but has a K&N air intake, and a flowmaster exhaust.

I would like to add a hundred to 125 HP to the car, but funds are very limited. I'll probably have to save $ until next summer. I dont want a turbo, or a super, and if possible, Id like to avoid going too deep into the engine.

Is this possible?

What would you guys suggest that I do?

Heh, that much HP for cheap? Only thing would be a shot of nitrous that would give you the most gain for the least money, but it is only temporary (the boost).

Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Pick two.

And you also have not given us a budget. Cheap for you could be $100,000 if you are a millionaire...

Your best bet is to go with LE1 heads and a cam. The LE1's with a cam are $1200. Injectors will cost $300, headers will cost $300. A tune will cost $100. That will get you like 400 HP. Pretty much the only way to get any significant gains are either to tear into the motor, or go FI, neither of which are cheap. Or use the giggle juice...

But even then, you want to spend the money and get a quality kit, and that will run you like $700-$800. At that point, you might as well start saving up for the engine work, as it's more reliable.

Then you have to take into account that because you have an M6, that 10 bolt is gonna disintegrate eventually. So you will have to build that....

I would say your best bet is getting a P&P intake and TB, headers, CAI and a tune. It won't net you 100 HP, but it will be noticeable, and within your budget.

Good luck and kill Rustanks.

Please don't call it that... This is not F&F, lol. It's nitrous, or N20. NOS is a brand...

But the question is are you getting a quality kit for that price...

and to the OP, you need to make sure the rest of your motor is in tip top shape. As in get a compression check, make sure your primary and secondary ignition system is working correctly, and most importantly your fuel system. With the compression we run, if you spray and it leans out, say bye-bye motor...

Nitrous oxide, also known as dinitrogen monoxide, is a chemical compound with chemical formula N2O.
If it does not work in you car, you can just sit around and inhale the stuff and laugh your brains out. While under the influence take the opportunity to get dental problems taken care of. Ask your buddy to get a pair of vise grips and pull out all the bad teeth. Won't feel a thing or care till the following day.

Thanks, I guess I didnt realize that 100 hp was so expensive.

As far as my budget goes, most anything nice that I get comes from layaway, or I make it from scratch. The car itself was a gift.
