Driveline Vibration after trans mount install

Hello all I think I am in the right subform here. I know this is a dead horse I am about to beat. I installed a Energy suspension trans mount on my 95z28 a4. Im getting some vibrations when driving, the shifting feels amazing other than that. I read somewhere that the poly mounts are slightly taller than stock and this causes the vibrations. I also read that the shim plate they require you to install causes this issue as well. My question is will this vibration cause damage?, im not sure if the pinion angle is off and I do not have the capabilities of checking that.

thanks

shouldnt harm anything. maybe shake lose some screws. poly mount will transfer vibrations much better than stock. i switched back to stock.

Some people appear to get more vibrations than others after switching to a poly mount. When I did on my old 96, the difference was there but not really bad at all. You may already have other reasons for driveline vibrations, like bad u-joints, or worn bearings in the trans or rearend. The poly mount will help to make those vibes more apparent, where the squishy rubber mount was absorbing/masking it.

i heard it was bad but jeeze this is insane. im going to see how long i can last, it feels like something is grinding. i hope it isnt the rear i just had it rebuilt about a year ago but my plan is to get thr ujoints replaced since i do still have some clunking. the motor mounts need to be replaced as well. does it make a difference having those be rubber while the trans is poly, other than the vibrations?

no but the motor mounts do sag and can add to mis alignment of the drivetrain.
