At what rpm are you able to rev your engine (with the brake pressed) before your tires start to spin? I always read that to launch your car, 2000-3000 is optimal. But I can barely make it to 1500 before I start moving forward. The brake pedal is pressed in all the way, but they just don't want to hold.

I've got an appointment to get the brakes checked, including new pads, rotors if needed, lines, etc...

hes talking about holding the car still while you rev up. if you do a N drop ur going to brake ur tranny, besides, ur a stick, so if you had it in gear you will just kill the motor unless ur clutch starts slipping.


I dont know, i think ur brakes suck. u should get to around 2k even on a stock converter i would think if ur holding the brakes firm. besides, you SHOULD NOT move, if anything ur rear tires should just start spinning. if your car is moving it sounds like the brakes arent holding well, you may have air in the system or not enough fluid (which.... would be air in the system, but for reasons other than there just being air in the system....)

yeah man get your brakes checked...i wanna say a stock converter is 2200(correct me if i'm wrong) so you really shouldn't even be spinning by that point. and like spec said, you should just spin, not start moving

 

you want brake suckage?unless ipress my brakes as hard as i can my car still slowly lurches forward... What your doing i am guessing is a brake stand. I have bad brakes and i can just press the brake pedal with some firmness and light the tires up and since my brakes suck so bad i move forward.

 

lol, spartan, sounds like u need a bleed. its free. well, unless ur low on fluid. check ur res, if brake fluid is low get some more, get a buddy or someone to help u bleed everything out. even with excessivly worn pads u should have some stopping power, just lots of noise at that point. bleed all 4 points, and see if u do any better. or seriously, dude, spend some cash on gas, come to iowa, and let me get my hands on that thing. well get it workin tip top. no offense, but i just dont wanna see u post about maintanance things anymore [8D]

 

Tell me about it... im tired of posting about stuff thats broken... I want to start modding this damn car... hell i was ready to mod it nearly 4000 dollars ago...

lol yeah... luckily its not too bad down hill i just have to press the brake hard as hell to stop completely.
