This is I think the last thing that doesn't work on this 175k mile old SS. I find three places that are definitely not correct. Any help on what should be like is appreciated!

Note first pic has a bolt at a T junction, second had a bolt that just fell out as I moved it. Thirde pic on pass side has an empty place that looks like a hose should be there but do not see a hose. Also note the blue connecters installed back there. Thanks!

 

I'm thinking all the T taps are something that someone added for unknown reasons. The hose between the two T's is smaller in diameter etc. Underneath things I find another place that looks like a vacuum hose should be there and is not as well as a loosened bolt down here so somebody has tinkered with it. Lowered the panel to get to the cruise box and seems undisturbed. Is there supposed to be a vacuum canister somewhere that maybe has been removed? I need to find a vacuum diagram and go get some supplies I'm thinking to clean things up.
Trying to get these details done before wife gets back from Kuwait next week, long overdue drive in the mountains would be awesome before snows start up here. Thanks all

pick up a factory sevice/shop manual for your yr, best investment youll make. heres a good deal on the set, 96 is a two book set.

Word for sure. I just ran and got a Haynes this AM. The GM manual sounds key on this car since I'm more after a mostly stock driver at this time. It sure beats paying someone else to do it too.

 

Grabbed onto that Ebay set there, thanks! I spent a awhile tinkering, checking for things unplugged, corroded etc up under the front end I'm gonna guess right now the cruise module is just dead or the column switch is bad. no fuses out, wiring all good, just does nothing at all when you try to set it. No lite on, nothing...
Good score was I found two Snap-On sockets in that pocket I had been missing for awhile.

 

yah thats the cheapest ive seen for a two book set. i dont have anything on the 96 wiring so im not much help there. the throttle system you have is way different than mine.

 

Got it! White switch at top of clutch pedal had adjusted itself back enough that the clutch wasn't pushing the switch in enough so the car thought the clutch was being pushed in; canceling cruise from working. Hope this helps someone else.
