hi all after i finally got an obd1 aldl cable and downloaded freescan on my automatic 94 z28 camaro i get error codes 16 and 43...what do they mean? my engine has been running rough and all thats why i got the cable.. i wanted to test it while running but just rebuilt my starter popped it back in and then the dam starter housing broke 3 days later so im waiting for another housing to arrive probly tommorow morning... ohh and i got my tranny rebuilt about 7 months ago and now the dam first gear is gone i think but i can put the shifter into 1st and not in D and it goes into 1st...

and what other programs can i use to tune my engine

DTC 16, no low res pulse. This is a timing pulse generated by the optispark. The PCM is not seeing this pulse and sets the MIL. Could be an open/grounded/shorted wire or connector between opti and PCM (Red/Black wire from pin "A" on the opti to pim B2 on the PCM. Also could be a bad opti.

DCT 43, PCM sees wrong voltage on lead from Knock Sensor. The lead from KS (Dark Blue) to PCM pin D22 could be either shorted or open, or KS not making good contact with engine block, or bad KS, or bad KS module, or bad PCM.

thanks 28pete and craby.. code 43 said something about an esc failure replaced the knock sensor and come to find out that the blue wire has broke off the old KS right at the connector so i pulled it off an old z28 i have same year so i spliced back togeather and still same ses codes ...had waterpump replaced and they checked opti and said it was still good looked like it was replaced about 5 months ago lol idk when it was replaced bought it from a guy that lives on my road..
