ive got a 2 step rev limiter (first setting at 5800 the second is set at 6900). on a 6al2... so i hooked up the initial rev limited to the vss..for a trigger and i sit at the line with pedal to the floor at 5800 rpms (first step setting).. i ride out the clutch to get traction. THen i ****** second (that is what happened to the ring and pinion LOL). The 6al is also beneficial because it allows you to protect your engine by cutting out the ignition instead of fuel when you hit the rev limiter. I have 562/487 hp/tq at the rear wheels no power adder. Those pictures i have posted of the parts are old ive tried three cams until i found one that works well ( I use a comp custom grind that ryans performance machines in garner nc recommended [great guys by the way])
The crank is bladed the rods are polished to reduce the chance of stress cracks, the heads are ported and polished trick flows, they flow 315 on the flow bench. That is what is making the biggest difference. Oh and water methanol injection, though ive been told that doesnt work lately.

holy ****! no wonder you blew it up. Have you done anything to the drive shaft?? My teachers told me when you put that much power to the wheels you tend to get driveline wind up and it snaps it in two. I am moving to Virginia in a year or two so it would be really great to know shops out there that can help.

Eastern VA? If so you need to come down to see us and go to the strip with us one weekend. If you are close enough i love to work on f-bodies. Yeah i did put an aluminum driveshaft in and a driveshaft loop from lakewood just in case (i like my rear floorboard.)
