I am running a gutted cat,but did it out of necessity after converters insides busted up.Was backed up to garage one day and reved it up a lil and heard pieces hitting the garage door.Didnt notice much if any difference, but has a little throatier sound.dont know if you have any inspections or emissions checks where you are but that should be a consideration.

inspection may not be an issue but selling might.when i moved back to florida 17 years ago had a car i eliminated the cats and ran true duals.went to sell it to a dearer before i had to pay "impact fees"(to retitle)in a new state, and had to replace cat.back to original equipment.since the state has eliminated impact fees.i think...

you remove the cats and it will probably **** off your rear o2 sensor. you can get that tuned out of your computer though. i don't have any cats on my car anymore

went ahead and welded a straight pipe in today. Time will tell with the sensors... Sounds sweet though

only time i got an o-2 sensor code was when my opti was on it's way out.not a problem before or after.does have a little backfire sound coming from the cat after letting off a heavy throttle but i know where it's coming from and never throws a code.as i said definately sounds a lil throatier

mine are gone, cut them out and replaced them with normail pipe, rear 02 sensors are computed out of the computer and i have full exhaust exept headers, i have a dyno tune so ya i could tell a big difference by night and day, but you should just put a pipe in place then you might feel more throttle response but nothing like i felt with mine, but my tone is deep, its loud, and it pisses the neighbors off like a mother ******

how do i go about tuning the code out of the computer
if the check engine light is on and the computer is throwing a code does this affect performance?
