Carb fuel system

Ok... I'm swaping in my lq9 l92 heads motor that im building into my 95 camaro. I'm an going with a carb set up. Question is what all do I need to set up an inline electric fuel system for a single carb motor? Does it require a return line? Any help will be appreciated. This is a first for me.

your gona need a fuel pressure regulator and yep gona need to use the return line. stock in tank fuel pump will not handle a no flow situation.

Also, have you considere on how you are going to make the carb fit under cowl?

So I can use my walbro 255? I know I ned a regulator, but would you recommend just 1. runing some rubber hose as the pick up and then run a steel braided new fuel line?

2. cut a gap in my current fuel line and place in the inline pump and take out my only fuel pump? or

3. just run the walbro with the regulator and use all stock pluming including the return line?

I'm gonne run a 3 in cowl hood.

i would hook into the lines where the plastic stops under the car on driver side about where the door jam is. run steel (first choice) or rubber from there for pressure and return. you will probly have to find a adjustable regulator with a return outlet.

hook a new fuel pump there?

Yeah I'm looking at the aeromotive or the mallory ones.

only way to use external pump is to replace the current fuel pickup with one that does not have a fuel pump.

Can I not just take the pump out and connece a rubber and run it to the bottom of the tank?

Does the in-tank pump not work? If it does, it'll be a heck of a lot easier to keep that and install a return style pressure regulator before the carb.
