I just bought a 95 Z. It was repainted and they took the stickers out of the doors. Is there another way I can tell if its mid to late 95 or mid to early. Is there a difference? I've heard that the distributor was changed to the optispark in mid 95... someone please tell me!

 

The Optispark is a type of distributor used in all 4th gen LT1 engines. Optispark was used starting with the 93 model year. The optispark was upgraded to a vented type in 95. All 95 Z28 came with the vented type.

 

yeah i no that. but the spline drive vent free was 93-94, they changed it to the pin drive in 95. I worded that wrong. sorry. thanks for the info though.

 

i believe the front cover was changed in late 95 - 96 to include a crank sensor. however the opti's are still the same 95-97.
