ok i brought my car into a shop and this guy said that he cant get a coad and it blows the air pump fuse. it car runs and drives but on acceleration and there is a random miss fire. i talk to the guy and he thinks that the computer has a short in it. i put a new distrubter and it fixed some of the problem. it seems like it did run but it still misses i think i also have to replace the ignition module. if you can tell me what you think that would be grate. thanks.

 

Check and eventually replace all plugs, plug wires. Make sure the fuel filter is clean, better yet, replace it. Also make sure the air filter is clean.

About the shorting to the AIR pump... I have no idea. I've never once had to tangle with them, so It's best I don't even attempt it. I do know, however, that internal PCM problems are a lot more rare than people and mechanics like to think. I've seen it dozens of times, places deeming PCMs 'bad', only to carry the car to another, more reputable shop, saying it was a simple problem.

 

Don't let them talk you into replacing the PCM, those things are practically bullet proof. Real random misfire could be an ignition problem, but in many cases it is due to lean fuel mixture. So do as usarmyrangs explained, and ad a few cans of fuel injection cleaner to the gas tank.
The air pump blowing fuses could be due to a shorted wire or just a bad pump motor.
Would also help to know what you aretrying to fix.

 

ok so what i got out of it is that it shouldent be the computer. it is something small whitch i like. i think it is the ignition moduale becouse i did get a coad befor and it was random miss fire. if the injecters are cloged is the injector cleaner even going to work i dident think that it made any difference. what is better seafome or injecter cleaner.

 

The best way to clean injectors is to have it professionally done, where the cleaning fluid is forced directly into the injectors. My next choice would be to dump 3 cans of Techron injector cleaner into a full tank of gas, and drive till it is used up. Sea Foam is a good general purpose cleaner, but it is trying to do too many things at once to be really effective.

well the fuel injecter cleaner into my car and it started to run grate and then i set up a race with a GTP and waxed him and after that it started to do the same thing. so i think i am eather going to change them or get them cleaned and i am still going to get a new ignition module any ways. i have to say it felt good to wax a beefed up gtp every one was in aaaaaa lol i had a ls1 car following me idk if he had it pinned but i was pulling away. then the cops came aa the good fun lol

 

ok well i brought it in to a different grodge and got a 2nd opinion on it and he said that it was the pcm too. i need help bad. i cant find one there are only 3 dealerships in the us that have one. and i cant find one any where. i guess for the 93 they are dam neer impossable to find. and tips thanks

 

whats up man, i have a 93 and had the same problem with the computer,IT IS THE COMPUTER!i looked everywhere and could not find one your right there like impossible to get your hands on one.93 is the only year they made a speed density 4th gen.i changed my computer and wireing harness to a 94 mass air setup and it fixed the problem,i know it sucks!i had it messed up for almost a year and tryed everything before i changed it but it came down to i had no choice.hope i helped!

 

hey that is a good idea. is there any way you could tell me how much that would be to transfer to the mass air flow. what all do you need i dont know for shere if i am going to do that yet but you never know. ya i am kinda in a little hole. it sucks i got a new computer from car domain and it just took a crap the day after i got it. and i know that my car dident short it out becouse i checked all the power and all the grounds and they where all good.
