Default Camaro killed the Radio Star

ok so here is the issue.... I had a faulty ignition switch, and a arching ignition coil, car wouldn't start... All of that is fixed and car runs like a champ minus one minor detail. The Radio seems to have static on all channels (AM/FM). I can still here the stations and music, talk radio sounds fine, but once the music gets bumping so to speak, it fills up with static... The CD player is crystal clear.... Not sure where to look or where to begin.... Thanks for all the advice in advance!

bad connection near your antenna maybe? cant be ground otherwise the cd player would sound all staticky or radio not work at all. could also be the connection into the stereo for your radio. is your system stock or aftermarket?

The system is completely stock.... i checked the connection in the trunk for the antenna everything appears to be hooked up...and i also took a look at the back of the unit itself and nothing seemed loose or disconnected but i could be wrong

hmmm, the only other thing i could think of is bad wires? only other thing i can think of is to tear out all the wiring for the radio and check for corroded insulation or any damage whatsoever.
my '94 z28's stock radio is alright, gets pretty staticky in some stations and cd player doesnt work, but i do get staticky stations too especially in the low and really high frequency channels.
make sure everythings clean and no dirt/dust/exposed wiring
if none of that's it i have no idea, maybe take it to a system shop and see if they can find anything

may be getting it from plugs assuming they were changed to. im not in car mode to well tonight but i know there are plugs and or plug wires that will mess with the reception. lose plug wire might be something to look for. if im reading right it does sound like it could be ignition related.

how so? from the sound of it the radio isnt affecting the the way the car starts/drives. unless when he got all that fixed it fixed the problem maybe 98% just enough to fix mechanical issues and not this situation.

(yah, i like to answer my own stupid questions sometimes )

Does the radio do the same thing whether the engine is running or not? If it works fine with the engine off, then you'd be getting some interference from the ignition. Was there some insulator, resistor, or ground wire associated with the coils and/or whatever else was replaced that was left off perhaps?
Oh, and I thought it was video that killed the radio star?

my best advice would be to either take it to a sound system shop and have them look at it or rip out the wiring yourself and look for any visible damage. sorry i cant offer anything else :/

a real longshot could be power connections possibly?

not thinkin to good tonight. still gettin over this type a flu. i was gona say if its not a rithmic sound or a tick it probly would not be ignition related. used to get some wird noises on the old systems if it did not have a resistor on the coil.
