Ok I have a built carbed L98 in a 1991 s10. The motor i basically fully built other than the crank, it also has dual 700 carbs with a tunnel ram intake. I got the vin codes from the block and it comes back that the motor is originally from a 86-88 Vette. I was just thinking and since my LT1 in my 96 camaro z28 is starting to show its age I could get a modified LT1 intake or an aftermarket intake. I would want the car fuel injection since the carbs and distributor would be hard to fit under the hood. What would I have to do to keep the stock wiring harness in the camaro and just be able to drop the motor in and start it up with virtually no problems. It seems that it would be a hard and expensive project but I'm sick of the optispark and it would be easier just to use what I have instead of spending more on buying a new motor and having to build that.

That sucks to hear. I just didn't want to spend the money on a new LT1 when I already have another engine. I disn't want to buy an LS1 also because I don't want to mess with any wiring too much. Any ideas on what I should do? The 165,000 mile LT1 that's in my car now is going to have to be swapped out or rebuilt eventually, probably very soon.

if you really want to get rid of the opti you can using a efi setup. you will need a front timing cover off a 97 with the crank sensor that is separate from the opti.
