blow-by
Now I just need to figure out why the old engine turned over the way it did, and when the coil was unhooked turned over fine. scanner showed 0-1 degrees advance, but sometimes it simply wouldn't start. Guess I'll have to see if it happens with the new engine instead of replacing parts that don't need to be replaced. Still baffles me, though.
the only difference is the drive pin/gear and vent, 93-94 are same and 95-97 are same. insides are same in all. i have the newer style cam and front cover so newer style opti works.
Should probably start a new thread on it, but you have any idea why the engine would turn over like the timing is super advanced, then when you unplug the coil from the opti and it turns over normally? (new starter and battery)
was there a harness that came with the opti that hooked up? I was told the plugs are different on the opti end.
