lots of white smoke generally means a bad head gasket- but I am surprised that you wouldnt see any smoke at all, then see tons all of a sudden....

Well, what did the smoke smell like? You had to have smelled something... Were all the guages reading in their normal areas? Any time something bad happens to your car take a mental picture, or have a post it note pad and pen your car wink wink to write down important info you might forget, camera/video phones help too.

I digress, the white smoke is definitly indicitive of something not functioning properly, and generally white smoke + coming out of exhuast = blown head gasket.....

ok the car did start and stayed at an idle and the pipes were dripping coolant out of them. it stayed at a normal idle but after the car got warmer it satred spewing so much white smoke out the exhaust. i then tryed reving it up and then it bogged and wanted to die. then a little bit after i started hearing a curdle noise under the hood so i shut it off the noise sounded like sand in yer teeth er somthing and it souded like it was around the fuel rail area meybe ioll try to post a vid of the car if my fone will let me

I would say a head gasket blew, may also be a bad manifold gasket, but that is unusual. A compression test will definetely tell you.
