Default BFH Mod

i just got some new et streets on weld rims....they are 28-13.50-15's with 7.5" backspacing. Needless to say im having some clearancing issues. I noticed at the track that alot of the guys have used the bfh mod to cut that axel stop (bump) off and then beat the wheel well back toward the center of the car. I looked at everything and it seems that the metal there is kinda structural. It's folded for strength and connects the subframe. It also goes around the coil spring. I was wondering if anyone here has done this mod, and if it reduces structural integity. How much should i cut out and beat back?
Thanks.

wheel spacers would be a good deal, don't know if they would hold the tq, but would be better than beating up your car.

i think your goin to have to roll the fender anyway. i would just get to poundin and see wat you can do. thats a big tire though you may need to look into mini tubbing that car cuz even if you get it in there it still need room to allow the car to squat

I fit the tire went to the strip made a pass @ 11.56. All felt well so i launched at 5600 or so hooked up... snatched second and the pinion and ring in the rear end exploded. ill send pictures to anyone who wants to see a richmond ring and pinion minus teeth. I felt like i was well on the way to low elevens or high tens on that pass. If you have any questions about this mod i created plenty of clearance. The issue was the caliper i had to gring the fins on the sides to clear the 15s. I can send pictures and help anyone wanting to stick rubber under their camaro at little to no cost. I had like one inch + all around the interior sidewall and lots of room between tire and fender.

I would love to see those pics, i just finished a class on rebuilding manual transmissions and differentials and i have always wanted to see what one would look like right after it explodes. haha i hope you get it fixed cuz running 11's is pretty good.
