Default ac question?

I had to put a new ac compressor on my 95 z28 this past weekend. .Got it filled with freon. was driving home today with it being about 95 outside. I had a digital thermo in the dash and it got to 55degrees. it got cool but not cold. had to have the fan on full blast the way home from work and that is like a 45 min trip. i have checked for leaks and no problem. any suggestions? I got in my wifes 05 malibu and that is blowing air in the 45 degree range. please help

May have to adjust the cable on the temp control. There are some that weren't set properly and failed to move the air door all the way and let heat in whenonly cold air was wanted. In the Camaro the heater is always on, the way it gets cold air from the AC system is by moving a flap that directs air from either the heater or the AC or both to the outlets in the car. A quick way to verify this, is to pinch one of the heater hoses shut with a clamp, drive around & see if the AC works any better. If the air is cooler it indicates the air door isn't working properly.

Freeon leaks are hard to find, you may want to check the system pressure to see if there is enough gas in it.
