ac delete

so i know i can get a kit for an a/c delete but what all has to come out of the car other then the compressor and all the lines and is anything going to stop working because the a/c ist there? and is it worth the effort to remove?

craby Mar 25, 2010 03:35 PM

not really. u gain maybe a couple hp (same if u dont turn on the ac) and dont lose much weight.

Camaro 69 Mar 25, 2010 04:27 PM

Why do you wanna do that anyhoo?

camaro_junky24 Mar 25, 2010 08:25 PM

dont need it i dont use it thats what windows are for and i would remove for the room not the weight or the hp gain i can get the same gain from an under drive pully set

Really it will only give you a little more room. The underhood layout is pretty tight in these rides, and removing the A/C will only hurt a potential resale value down the road.

Unless you have something that you want to intall in the same place as the condensor or other parts, you are just wasting time IMHO.

imo weight is weight, expecially if its on the front of the car although it dont make much difference it could be that quarter of a car length that wins the race unlikely but if you never use ac like me then y have it! i plan to remove mine just not gunna go through the trouble till i pull the engine next winter
