ABS inop
 

My abs inop light keeps coming one after i start driving down the road. why is it doing that? It never happens right away, it generally only happens when the engine warms up. Its a 96 Z28 and im confused:eek:

My (for the most part) uneducated guess would be to check the fuse first... see if there's any problems there. Then again if it were a fuse or a relay or something, you might think it would come on immediately.

Usually it's either a bad wheel speed sensor, bad special bendy-cable for the wheel speed sensor or a bad third brake light. I'd check the brake light first since it's easy to test.

what does the wheel speed sensor look like? i dont think its the brakeligths but il check

no not at all, why? I think my dash cluster is working fine if thats what ur asking, then again im not sure. Is it possible that theres a bare wire on a sensor and it is grounding out after the wires warm up and becom more malleable?[8D]

No, but before my alternator died my abs light turned on and at a stop my guages would say i was accelerating. then the next time i went to turn it on it wouldnt start.

No problem...uh, just a friendly word of advice: You may want to take your picture and your full name out of your sig so some random person from teh internet doesn't start stalking you. I mean, just from you sig I have your face, name and license plate, that's enough to find out lots of things if you're crafty and internet savvy.
