Remove rear X member (4 bolts) Remove transmission mount to X member Remove all wiring to transmission Drain transmission Remove transmission arm from transmission to rear differential Remove 4 bolts (2 each time) holding output center shaft universal joints Remove output shaft by taking off rear u-joint first then sliding it off transmission Catch any transmission fluid that may leak Step 4: Under the car Drain engine oil Drain antifreeze Remove starter Remove clutch slave cylinder Push fork down to disconnect it from throw out bearing Place jack under transmission Remove 8 x 15mm bellhousing to transmission bolts Separate transmission from bellhousing by moving up to clear shifter handle and transmission shaft. Lay transmission backon floor out of the way Step 5: Under the car Support engine from below using jack Remove 2 block mount super long bolts (need tool on head bolt and one on nut) Remove downpipe coming from driver side By removing 3 bolts (13mm) right above catalytic converter Step 6: Both above and below car: Start lifting engine while using both jack and hoist from above Make sure no wires are catching to block and that block is free to come Will need to rotate front of block slightly toward driver side to clear driver block mount Once engine is off car, lay down on ground using wooden blocks |
