Sounds like a bad rebuild or messed up installation. In a proper rebuild it is common practice to replace all the electrical stuff in the transmission, such as shift solenoids, control solenoids, TCC solenoid, etc..

Double check the tranny oil level, make sure its warmed up and idling in park. Mine did the same thing after i replaced it, and i filled it, drove around the block, checked the level again and it needed more fluid. Did this three times before it finally pumped everywhere inside and was actually full.

+1 on fluid. it takes about 12-13 quarts.

Did someone else do the removal/installation?

Now, me, mine lasted 2 weeks due to a poor rebuild.
