96' LT1 Flywheel Question

I'm looking into getting parts to replace the clutch on my 96 Z28, 6-speed trans. I'm trying to keep the costs down a little, and I'm wondering... Has anyone had any luck with using an older sbc flywheel on an LT1 motor?

This is what I was exploring...

So, would just any sbc flywheel work as long as it's compatible with my starter and the 11" clutch size? Input please.

The biggest part of adapting a T-56 into an older SBC car is the custom clutch that is required. You can now buy a clutch setup that will work with a LT1/T-56 and a SBC.

If there is a cheap way to do it someone should have already figured it out since that trans has been out for almost 20 year.

Remember you dealing with a hydraulic clutch. Not only do you need the right spline size and pitch you need the right distance from the block to the finger on the clutch because there is no adjustment on your linkage.
